Telangana Congress leaders are competing with each other for the Party ticket for the Narayankhed Assembly by-election.
The Medak district Congress leaders have suggested late P Kista Reddy's son Sanjeeva Reddy as the Party's candidate for the by-election, which has been caused due to the death of Kista Reddy. But former MP Suresh Shetkar has asked the ticket for himself. AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh appears to have convinced Shetkar to take up the by-election responsibilities instead.
On Tuesday, several Congress leaders met with Singh and discussed about the Narayankhed by-election. The leaders decided to conduct a public meeting on October 29 after a Party workers' meeting at Narayankhed.
A few Congress leaders including Mallu Ravi also lodged a complaint with Singh alleging that there was no work division in the PCC, and demanded that the latter clear the air on whether a PCC executive committee existed.
They asked Singh to direct the Party leaders to appoint new PCC executive committee in case there was no executive committee right now.
Speaking to the media, Ravi said that a family typically included "a grandfather, a father, a mother, a son and a grandson" (sic), and in the same manner the PCC needed to have all positions, and only then would it shine.
"PCC doesn't mean president and working president," Ravi said.
