Congress MLA from Bandar Perni Venkataramaiah, better known as Nani, on Tuesday stated that he was not joining the yet-to-be launched party of former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Talking to media persons after meeting Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at his chambers, Nani stated that he met Jaganmohan Reddy as he came to his constituency to enquire about rain-hit farmers.
According to sources, the Chief Minister has sought explanation from Nani over his intention of joining the party to be launched by Jaganmohan.
The Chief Minister has persuaded him to stay back in the Congress.
Nani reportedly assured the Chief Minister that he would never participate in rallies launched by Jagan against the government, the sources said.
Earlier, Nani
justified his decision to go along with former Kadapa MP on the ground that it was the unanimous view of his followers and party activists in his constituency.
