Launching a scathing attack on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for pumping illegal money to buy MLAs' votes, Telangana Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy today said that sweeping political changes would result in the two Telugu states.
Speaking to media persons, the Home Minister said there were records to show that Chandrababu Naidu was the kingpin in the dirty vote-for-note episode.
The Telugu Desam Party leadership was now exerting pressure on Revanth Reddy to abstain from disclosing the name of Naidu during the inquiry, he alleged.
Naidu had personally spoken to nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to vote in favour of the TDP candidate in the recently held Telangana MLC elections, and offered Rs 5 crores, Nayani said.
"We have records in this regard and the law will take its own course," he stated. "Of course, the footage seen in the television channels has already disclosed Naidu's role in the murky handing over of the Rs 50 lakhs to Stephenson," he added.
When asked to elaborate on the records, Nayani refused saying that the case was sub judice.
Leaders vexed with the TD and the Congress were making it to the TRS to achieve a Bangaru Telangana, he claimed. Chief Minister KCR was pro-poor, and was giving top priority for the welfare of the state, he added. (NSS)
