Nagarkurnool MLA Nagam Janardana Reddy, on Sunday, ridiculed TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao's statement wherein the latter described the Bharatiya Janata Party as being a communal party.
Talking to reporters in Hyderabad, Nagam said that KCR's statement was aimed at damaging the party's prospects in the next elections. Nagam said that if the BJP was indeed a communal party, then it made no sense for KCR to meet L K Advani, as he had done after the last elections.
Nagam further went on to say that KCR's statements and actions were contradictory when it came to the BJP.
Stating that the formation of a separate Telangana state was not possible through sub-regional parties like TRS, Nagam expressed confidence that the BJP would come to power after next elections and would bring the collective dream of a separate Telangana state to fruition.
Nagam also said that TRS's political empowerment would never lead to the formation of a separate Telangana state. According to him, the TRS can only exert pressure on the centre, whereas the BJP will grant statehood for the region if the party's voted to power.
Nagam announced that he would formally join the BJP on June 3, during a public meeting at Nizam College Grounds. (INN)
