Former minister and BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy today lamented the criticism of M Kodandaram by TRS leaders.
Speaking to the media, Nagam said that people had the right to question the TRS government and Chief Minister KCR, and that the latter could not use his power to silence them.
He wondered how Kodandaram had become persona non grata for KCR now after the latter had participated with the ex-Professor in the Telangana statehood movement. Nagam alleged that KCR had used Kodandaram and the TPJAC all through, but when the functioning of his government was questioned by them, indulged in ganging up to denigrate the ex-academic. Nagam asked KCR to desist from vilifying the Opposition leaders and those who questioned his government.
Nagam also accused KCR of continuously luring leaders of other political parties instead of working for the upliftment of the masses. Alleging that KCR was making a mockery of the democratic systems, he said that the former's main priority was finishing off the Opposition in the State.
On the controversy over the Krishna river waters, the BJP leader said that the people of Mahabubnagar would not allow even a drop of water to be used illegally, and that the Telangana BJP would protect the State's share in the Krishna waters.
