The much-anticipated Naga Chaitanya romance, 100% Love, is all set for release on the 6th.
Naga Chaitanya has so far been on the same trajectory as contemporary Ram Charan Tej - an average to above-average debut where he personally impressed, followed by a blockbuster. Ram Charan Tej had
Chirutha and
Magadheera, while Naga Chaitanya has had
Josh followed by
Ye Maya Chesave.
However, Ram Charan Tej crash-landed with the
hatke Orange, directed by a man who specializes in movies for the youth and in films revolving around romance - "Bommarillu" Bhaskar.
Naga Chaitanya is sailing in a similar boat. 100% Love is directed by Sukumar - he of the Arya movies. Sukumar is an avant garde director, too, and specializes in romance and in movies for the youth, too.
Indications, however, are that 100% Love will see better luck at the box office. The promos look good, the music by Devisri Prasad is a hit, and unlike Orange, this one is hitting the screens in summer, when most youngsters have nothing better to do than watch movies, usually multiple times. Plus, the competition is easy, with there being no real blockbusters around.
100% Love stars Tamanna, who hasn't been seen in Telugu films in a long while, alongside Naga Chaitanya.
