Speaker's Mother Passes Away

Nadendla Lalitha, wife of former Chief Minister N Bhaskar, and mother of Assembly Speaker N Manohar, passes away in New Delhi.

Nadendla Lalitha, wife of former Chief Minister N Bhaskar, and mother of Assembly Speaker N Manohar, passed away in New Delhi on Sunday morning. She was 72.

She was suffering from a heart ailment, and was undergoing treatment at Escort Hospital in New Delhi. She also underwent a robotic surgery recently, which failed. She died in the hospital on Sunday morning.

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, and other leaders, telephoned Bhaskar and Manohar to express their condolences.

The final rites of Nadendla Lalitha will be performed at the Punjagutta Shmashana Vatika, on Monday. (INN)
