The East Godavari District authorities have denied permission for the public meeting proposed by former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in Rajahmundry on March 12.
According to sources, East Godavari collector Neetu Prasad has refused to permit the public meeting citing implementation of the Model Code of Conduct as the reason.
Kiran Kumar Reddy was scheduled to launch his new party on March 12 during the public meeting.
Earlier, Kiran had also been denied permission to conduct the meeting at the Arts College Grounds. The venue was later shifted to a private place. However, the district authorities have also refused to give their permission.
Meanwhile, sources say that Kiran Kumar Reddy is going to announce the name of his new party on Monday evening itself. (INN)
