Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Monday, ordered the administrative sanction of an additional amount of Rs. 80 crore towards land acquisition for the development of the Rajahmundry airport.
The chief minister also ordered for monitory benefit to be extended to municipal teachers, with effect from April 1, 2009, as was given to the teachers of the School Education Department.
In addition, he permitted the filling up of four posts of "technical assistants" in the Handlooms And Textiles department, and 17 posts of "junior assistants" in the Sugar department, by direct recruitment through APPSC.
He also consented to the filling up the existing vacancies of 51 Assistant Engineers' posts in APCPDCL by direct recruitment.
He agreed to constitute a committee to examine and suggest measures to be taken up for resolving the problems of weavers in the state.
The chief minister also agreed to the naming of the new railway station between Vishnupuram and Janpahad as "Janpahad Shahid Darga Station". (INN)
