Ex-minister Mopidevi will be surrendering at the CBI court today, as the interim bail granted him to allow him to go on a pilgrimage to Sabarimala came to an end yesterday.
Mopidevi was let out on bail on the 24th of last month, following which he went straight to Sabarimala, and came back 2-3 days ago, during which period he has had visits from several politicians including PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana and State Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy.
He has reportedly been holding long chats with his visitors during which he waxed eloquent on all the "injustice" being done to him, despite instructions from the court forbidding him from touching upon the topic of his arrest and the reasons for it.
The ex-minister was arrested on the 27th of May last year following allegations of his involvement in YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's disproportionate assets case, and in the VANPIC land acquisition case, following which he was remanded to judicial custody.
Since his arrest, Mopidevi had applied for bail several times, and met with a rebuff from the court until recently, when he requested bail so he could go on the pilgrimage.
