Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Tuesday claimed that the success of the TRS public meeting held on Monday at the Parade Grounds was a proof of the popularity of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in Telangana.
Speaking to media persons at TRS Bhavan, Reddy said that the TRS had become more popular among the masses after coming to power in June last year.
He said that nearly 10 lakh people from across the State attended the meeting and endorsed the welfare measures being implemented by the government.
Reacting to allegations of the TRS luring legislators and other leaders to join the party, Reddy claimed that all the leaders were joining on their own to ensure the development of their constituencies.
He said that the TRS had sufficient numbers to stay in power, and therefore did not need to buy any legislator.
He said that the opposition parties could move in a No Confidence Motion if they wished to test the TRS' strength.
The minister also announced that the TRS would extend all possible help to workers who met with road accidents while coming to or returning from the public meeting. (INN)
