Telangana Power Minister G Jagadish Reddy today claimed that everyone in the state, including the leaders of the Congress, the youth and retired persons, were joining the TRS fold for the development of the state.
Speaking after welcoming about 100 people, including many leaders and activists of the Congress, into the pink party's fold at a meeting in Suryapet district, he said, "The people of the state want to extend their support to the TRS government as they know it will bring development to all in the state. We spend a whopping Rs 40,000 crore on welfare, so this is only natural."
"Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is developing the state by investing huge amounts of money into various developmental and welfare programs - the irrigation projects initiated by us are just one example of this. This is what has drawn many Congress leaders, youth and retired people to our party. Even other the states of the country have been appreciating our state for its speedy development and comprehensive welfare," Reddy added.
He also mentioned that the Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Vedika and Rythu Bhima schemes, the Kalyaan Lakshmi scheme, the Shaadi Mubarak scheme, the KCR kits, and the Aasra pensions among others had benefited many people in the state in a big way.
"Our programs reach all sections of society - from the urban to the rural, the rich to the poor. That is why people support us," Reddy said.
