BJP State president and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would attend a public meeting at the Hanumakonda Arts College grounds on August 8.
Bandi said that they had named the public meeting 'Vijaya Sankalpa Sabha'.
He said that the PM would reach Hanamkonda at 9 am on the scheduled day.
He added that the party was aiming to mobilise around 15 lakh people for the public meeting, the largest number ever for any meeting in the history of the united Warangal district.
A preparatory meeting was held this afternoon at the S V Convention Hall in the local NGO Colony to discuss the arrangements for the meeting. Union minister G Kishan Reddy, BJP national executive members Etala Rajender and Garikapati Mohan Rao, former ministers Marri Shashidhar Reddy and G Vijaya Rama Rao, BJP State general secretaries G Premender Reddy and Bangaru Shruti, and the district presidents of the party in Hanumakonda, Warangal and Karimnagar - Rao Padma, Kondeti Sridhar and Gangadi Krishna Reddy respectively - participated in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Bandi, referring to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's public meeting at the same venue with two lakh people, asked the party workers to mobilise 15 lakh attendees and break the record of the Congress.
"Let us create history by giving an unprecedented welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he said.
Sanjay added that the BJP was the only alternative to the BRS. "From Dubbaka to the teacher constituency MLC elections, it was the BJP that contested against the BRS and won. In the GHMC elections, the BJP hoisted the flag in 48 seats, even though all the tail parties, including the BRS, had contested together," he said. He also mocked the Congress for being limited to only two seats in the GHMC elections.
He alleged that both the BRS and the Congress were working together inside and outside Parliament to defeat the BJP. However, the BJP would end the rule of the BRS and establish a Ram Rajya in Telangana, and it was fighting on behalf of the poor to achieve it, he said.
