All is set for the launch of the Modified Direct Benefit Transfer on LPG (MDBTL) on Saturday in 3 districts of Telangana, including Hyderabad.
Addressing a press conference on Friday, HPCL Senior Regional Manager (Retail) Ch Srinivas, who is also the State Level Coordinator for Oil Industries in Telangana & AP, said that the scheme would be launched in 3 districts of Telangana - Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Adilabad - and 9 districts of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.
They are among the 54 districts where the MDBTL scheme is being launched in the first phase. The other districts will be covered from January 15, 2015.
As per the MDBTL, Aadhar Card linkage will be given to LPG consumers with their bank accounts.
The LPG consumers have been asked to provide their Aadhar Card numbers through Form 2 to their respective LPG distributors, and through Form 1 to their account-holding banks.
Immediately after the booking of the first cylinder after the linkage, the government will deposit Rs 435 as subsidy.
Srinivas said those not having Aadhar Cards should provide bank details through Form 4, and provide their 17-digit LPG ID number to the bank through Form 3. The government will reimburse the subsidy for 3 months, and by February 15, 2015, they should provide their Aadhar numbers.
In case LPG consumers fail to provide their Aadhar Card numbers by February 15, their subsidy amount will be issued and preserved with the OMC, but will not be credited into the account till May 15.
If the consumers fail to provide their Aadhar Card numbers by May 15, they will not get any subsidy, and will have to buy gas at the market rate. The three months' subsidy deposited with the OMC will also be lost.
Subsidy will be given for 12 cylinders annually. (INN)
