Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday urged the people of Telangana to teach a lesson to the TRS on April 11.
Addressing a public meeting at the Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad, the Prime Minister alleged that the ruling party had become a "puppet" in the hands of the MIM, and was not able to do anything as it was totally controlled by that party.
"While the car belongs to the TRS, the steering wheel is with the MIM," he said.
He also alleged that the MIM had obstructed the Hyderabad Metro Rail project, and had become a bottleneck for the development of the Telangana capital, while the BJP had brought in the Triple Talaq Bill bravely to help the women of the same community that the MIM claimed to champion.
Also hitting out at TRS chief and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Modi claimed that the former had done nothing for the poor in the State, and that only his (KCR's) family members really benefited in his rule. Referring to the 2BHK scheme of the TRS government, the Prime Minister defined it derisively as the "Baap, Beta, Harish and Kavitha" benefit scheme.
Recollecting later that he had come to Hyderabad in 2014 to seek blessings of the people for his victory, Modi said that the favourable response from the people of Hyderabad and Telangana was an important factor in the BJP forming the government at the Centre that year, and that he was hoping for the same this time around too.
