Modi Planning To Shut National Herald Out Of Fear: Revanth Reddy
The TPCC chief alleged that the Prime Minister was scared that the newspaper would expose all the irregularities being committed by the BJP government.
TPCC chief Revanth Reddy today alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was trying to shut down the historic National Herald English daily as he was scared that the newspaper would expose all the irregularities being committed by the BJP government.
He made these remarks while addressing party activists protesting in front of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Basheer Bagh.
The protest was held against the "harassment" of party leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi by the ED.
Reddy said that the Gandhi family did not take a singe penny from National Herald, and that the ED had itself said in the past that no irregularity had taken place in the financial transactions of the daily and had closed the case against the Congress leaders.
He said the issuance of the notices to the Gandhis in a closed case was part of a conspiracy by Narendra Modi, and that Modi had reopened the case originally filed in 2008 as he was scared that the Congress would come to power after the next general elections.
Claiming that the Gandhi family had sacrificed everything for the unity and integrity of the country, Reddy said that power was not permanent for any leader, and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were behaving in a cruel manner.
