TRS Leaders Thunder Ahead With Campaign

Several TRS leaders today appealed to the graduates of the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar constituency to support the party in the upcoming MLC elections.
Hyderabad | 27th February 2021
As the MLC elections for the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar and the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduates' constituencies draw closer, the leaders of Telangana's ruling party seem to be giving their all to the campaign for the same.

Today, the party's leaders held two different preparatory meetings for the upcoming elections, and took the opportunity to also appeal to the graduates of the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar constituency to vote for the TRS' candidate, daughter of former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao Surabhi Vani Devi.

At the meeting held in Mahabubnagar, Tourism and Culture Minister V Srinivas Goud and Roads and Buildings Minister V Prashanth Reddy urged the TRS cadres to devote themselves to ensuring the victory of the party's candidate for the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar MLC seat, Surabhi Vani Devi.

The ministers also did not miss the chance to assail the TRS' rivals, the BJP and the Congress, and claimed that the two parties were indulging in a "paltry blame game" just to secure a few votes in the upcoming elections.

"While the BJP and the Congress don't seem to shy away from making false charges against the TRS regime, one is forced to wonder if they ever reflect on their own actions. On the one hand, the BJP-led Centre has been burdening the people of the country with ever-rising fuel prices, on the other the Congress has only been indulging in mudslinging. Meanwhile, the TRS government has been focused on working for the welfare of the people of the state," they said.

"The Opposition should stop spreading lies, and should divert its energies towards working sincerely for the people. It is appalling that the Congress and the BJP have been making false claims about the filling of job vacancies under the TRS' rule even though IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao has openly shared the details of the same. If the leaders of the Opposition can prove that we have not brought development and welfare to the people of the state, we will resign," they added.

The two leaders then appealed to the voters of the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar constituency to vote for Surabhi Vani Devi, claiming she was the "most suited" for the post.

"Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has decided to field Surabhi Vani Devi as the TRS candidate for the elections as he believes that she will be an able leader. Despite being the daughter of former Prime Minister late P V Narasimha Rao, Vani Devi is humble and maintains a low profile. Further, she is acutely aware of the issues plaguing the education sector, and of those being faced by the graduates in the state and elsewhere. Her selection as the TRS candidate is also an apt way of honouring the former PM, especially since the state government is conducting celebrations for his birth centenary," they said.

"Under the CM's guidance, we have been able to take steps to improve the quality of life of the poor in the state. Our farmers too have benefited greatly from the schemes we have implemented. The TRS stands for inclusive development. Supporting Vani Devi will also help bring development to the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar area. We hope the graduates in the constituency will vote for her," they added.

TRS MP K Keshava Rao and MLA Danam Nagender also addressed a prepatory meeting in Hyderabad, where they appealed to the graduate voters in the capital to vote for Surabhi Vani Devi in the upcoming elections.

Speaking on the occasion, Keshava Rao said that Vani Devi was a noted educationist and therefore also the candidate best equipped to address the problems of the graduates of the constituency.

"Having immense exposure and many years of experience as an educator, Vani Devi is sure to be an able leader. Further, she has headed many big educational institutions, and will be adept at handling the problems being faced by the graduates if she wins the MLC seat," he said.

GHMC Mayor G Vijayalakshmi, who was also present at the meeting, expressed her support for the candidate as well, and said, "Vani Devi is a well known educationist who has great insight into the problems of the youth and the graduates of the state. Voting for her will mean voting for the cause of the graduates."

Vani Devi herself also spoke at the meeting. She said that she had decided to contest in the MLC elections after the CM suggested to her that she should.

Claiming that she was more aware of the problems being faced by the graduates than her rivals for the seat, Vani Devi assured them (the graduates) that she would work for their wellbeing if voted to power.
