The Special Court for ACB Cases dismissed?a petition seeking custody of the three accused in the sensational MLA poachgate case.
The petition was moved by the officials of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) stating that they needed the custody to carry out their ongoing investigation into the case.
The court told the officials that it had already given custody of the accused for two days, and made it clear that it was not possible to extend their custody further.
The officials took the accused into the custody on November 10 and 11, and interrogated them. However, they once again approached the ACB court claiming that the interrogation carried out was not enough and that they needed five?more days' custody, and urged the court to grant the custody.
The counsel for the accused told the court that the police had already interrogated them for two days during custody, and that the sections invoked by the police officials against the accused in the case were completely faulty. He urged the court not to allow the custody petition of the SIT.
The three accused have been kept in remand in the Chanchalguda central prison for the last 25 days.
