AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi today called upon the people to teach a lesson to the BJP and the Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking at the AIMIM 61st Foundation Day celebrations, Owaisi expressed hope that the TRS and the YSR Congress Party would win 35 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, which would be enough to fight at the Centre for the causes of the Telugu states against the national parties.
He also expressed interest in supporting the YSRCP in the elections, and in campaigning for it if Jaganmohan Reddy invited him.
The MIM supremo's remarks have importance as the TRS is fairly overtly supporting the YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh against the TDP.
Welcoming the return of Abhinandan to India from Pakistan captivity, Owaisi suggested that the BJP avoid using it for political gain. He also took objection to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan talking about nuclear weapons and using the names of Mysore king Tipu Sultan and Moghul Emperor Bahadur Shah. He asked Pakistan to first curb terrorist groups on its territory. He also slammed terror groups including Jaish-e-Mohammed and ISIS though they carried Islamic names.
