Owaisi reportedly gave a list of demands, seeking a special package for the Old City and the Communal Violence (Prevention) Act in the Assembly, which the TPCC agreed to.
After a gap of nearly 18 months, the Congress party appears to have succeeded in bringing the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen back to its fold.
According to sources, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah held a secret meeting with MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi seeking his support, if needed, to form the next government in Telangana.
Further, he asked Owaisi to support the Congress party, which he hoped would form the government on its own.
During the 2-hour long meeting, Owaisi reportedly submitted a list of demands, seeking a special package for the Old City and the Communal Violence (Prevention) Act in the Assembly.
Ponnala reportedly agreed to accept all the demands, and also gave a letter confirming the same.
He also reportedly wrote to the Congress High Command informing it about the development.
Sources say that the deal between the 2 parties was struck through former ministers Danam Nagender and M Mukesh Goud.
Another former minister Mohammad Ali Shabbir, who is said to be having a good relationship with the Owaisi brothers, stayed away from the development. (INN)
