"MIM Is A Rivulet To The Congress Ocean"
Botsa said that the Congress party would not be affected if some people snap their ties.
Hyderabad | 19th November 2012
Describing the Congress party as a big ocean, Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana said that the ocean never goes to the river, but rivers always fall into the sea.
Without naming the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, which has severed its ties with the Congress party, Botsa said that the Congress party would not be affected if some people snap their ties. Addressing the party workers at the Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee office during the launch of the membership drive, Botsa assured the workers that the party has a bright future, and that they need not worry about the recent developments.
Declaring that the party has been working hard to realise the dreams of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, he said that all political parties witness ups and downs, and being the oldest and the strongest party, the Congress has always overcome difficult phases.
Speaking on the occasion, Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee (GHCC) president and Labour Minister D Nagender said that the nominated posts would be filled soon. He said that the GHCC and PCC were preparing separate lists of leaders for the nominated posts and, after discussions, the candidates would be finalised. He assured that the services of honest workers and leaders would be recognised by the party.
Rajya Sabha MP KVP Ramachandra Rao claimed that the Congress party would return to power, both in the state and at the Centre, during the 2014 elections. He asserted that injustices done to leaders and workers would be undone soon.
Marketing Minister M Mukesh Goud, Secunderabad MP Anjan, Rajya Sabha member MA Khan, MLC MS Prabhakar, Dy Mayor D Rajkumar and other leaders were also present.
Earlier, the PCC President paid rich tributes to Indira Gandhi on her 95th birth anniversary by garlanding her statue at Gandhi Bhavan. Twenty-Point Programme Chairman N Tulasi Reddy, PCC General Secretary G Niranjan and others leaders were also present. (INN)
