A delegation of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee called on Governor E S L Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday and sought his intervention to resolve the problems being faced by the farmers in the state.
Speaking to media persons after submitting the memorandum, APCC President Dr N Raghuveera Reddy said that the TDP government had completely neglected the welfare of the farmers in the state.
He said that the farmers did not get any compensation for the losses that they had incurred due to drought and unseasonal rains.
They were also denied crop insurance and input subsidy.
He urged the Governor to use his offices to resolve the farmers' issues at the earliest.
The APCC leaders also requested the Governor to direct the AP government to issue job notifications for the unemployed youth. (INN)
