The Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen on Monday urged the State government to take steps to ensure the smooth and peaceful celebration of the holy month of Ramzan.
Speaking to media persons at the State Secretariat after participating in the review meeting held by the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, MIM MLA Ahmed Balala said that they had demanded a water plant and a generator for the Mecca Masjid and the Royal Mosque (in Public Gardens).
Further, they said that the Hyderabad Police should be directed not to harass traders, and that the shops should be allowed to remain open round the clock.
Ahmed Balala said that Muslim employees should be permitted to leave their offices by 4pm.
The MIM also demanded uninterrupted supply of power and drinking water during the month. (INN)
