Brushing aside pleas by anxious parents and students, the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TPJAC) on Monday categorically stated that the proposed 'Million March' would go ahead on March 10th, as announced earlier.
Talking to media persons after emerging out a meeting convened at JAC office, New MLA Quarters, Adarshnagar, TPJAC Convener Kodandaram said that though the Million March will not be postponed, care would be taken to ensure that the proposed plans to lay siege to Hyderabad do not interfere in the intermediate students' examinations and put them at inconvenience.
Prof. Kodandaram said that accordingly, the TPJAC has decided to change the timing of the the March following the request of parents and students. He said that the March will be held from 1pm to 4pm on that day.
As part of the Million March, activists would cook food on the roads, Prof. Kodandaram said.
Apart from this, rallies will be organized in all 'gallis' (lanes) highlighting the need for the introduction of Telangana Bill in the Parliament. The rally will finally culminate at the Tank Bund.
He said that the rallies would be peaceful, and would not cause inconvenience to students and examiners at the centres.
Prof. Kodandaram called upon all pro-Telangana activists, cutting across party lines, to participate widely in the rally and make the program a grand success.
