As a fallout of the TDP's alliance with the BJP, Medak MLA Mynampally Hanumanth Rao on Sunday resigned from the TDP.
Speaking to media persons here, Rao said that he was resigning from the TDP in protest against the attitude of party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
He claimed that Naidu about 4 years ago had promised to give him the ticket for the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat. However, now the Malkajgiri seat had been allotted to the BJP as part of the seat-sharing pact. Therefore, he was resigning from the party in protest against Naidu's broken promise.
Hanumanth Rao also announced that he would he would contest the next elections as an independent candidate. (INN)
