Bowing to the demand from the MCA students in Osmania University, the state government has postponed the MCA examination to January 20.
On Wednesday, minister for higher and technical education D Rajanarasimha reviewed the situation arising out of the students' stir which protested against conducting the MCA examination as scheduled. Top officials and the vice chancellor attended the meeting at the Secretariat.
The minister took stock of the situation and decided to postpone the MCA examination, stating that students who were to take the tests were not more than 7% of the total strength of students.
The minister announced that the MCA examination will be held along with other PG examinations on January 20, 2011.
Earlier, on December 27, the MCA and M-Ed students belonging to the colleges affiliated to the Osmania University had
boycotted the ongoing examinations, demanding a withdrawal of police cases filed against them during the pro-Telangana agitations.
The government had, on Tuesday,
announced the lifting of the police cases.
