Rao's Prayer For Jagan

Handlooms And Textiles Minister P Shankar Rao prayed at Tirupati for Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's return to the Congress party.
Hyderabad | 19th January 2011
Handlooms And Textiles Minister P Shankar Rao called on the centre to induct All India General Secretary Rahul Gandhi in the union cabinet and allot him the Youth And Women Welfare Ministry.

The Minister, sporting a tonsured head after his pilgrimage to Tirupati to pray at the Lord Venkateshwara temple, however, did not reveal the reasons behind his suggestion of that particular portfolio for Gandhi.

When asked to reveal what he prayed for at Tirupati, Dr. Shankar Rao said that he prayed to God to change the heart of former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy so that he rejoined the Congress.

Incidentally, Dr. Shankar Rao is a known Jagan-baiter.

Referring to the Telangana issue, the minister said that he was of the view that the MPs were not wrong in aspiring for the union ministers' posts. He also said that he was confident that a separate state would be created soon, since bifurcation was the only solution for the problems prevalent in the region.

He said that this was also reflected in the Justice BN Srikrishna Report which had clearly said that the sentiment for a separate state was very strong amongst the people.

Dr. Shankar Rao also expressed his happiness over the appointment of the Advocate General of the State from Telangana.
