Shashidhar Reddy Appears Before Criminal Court
The Chilkalguda police are reported to have booked the case against the senior Congress leader and four others under pressure from Talasani Srinivas Yadav and the TRS.
Senior Congress leader and ex-MLA Marri Shashidhar Reddy on Wednesday appeared before the Xth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate in Secunderabad in connection with a case of unlawful assembly of persons and illegal detention.
A chargesheet had been filed in the case by the Chilkalguda police under Sections 143 and 341 of the IPC.
The case was based on a suo moto complaint by the police when Reddy had demanded compensation from the electricity department for the widow of a young man who had died due to electric burns caused by a high tension power line close to his house, located in Gandhi Nagar police station limits.
The power line was not removed even after three years of repeated complaints to the local MLA and minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav.
Though there was no complaint by the electricity department, the Chilkalguda police are reported to have booked the case against Reddy and four others under pressure from Talasani Srinivas Yadav and the TRS.
