Heralding a change of political equations in the Mahboobnagar district, senior TDP leader and Nagarkurnool segment in-charge, Marri Janardhan Reddy resigned from the party on Tuesday.
Marri, who contested and lost the by-elections against Nagam Janardhan Reddy, as a TDP candidate, is most likely to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. However, an official announcement in this regard is expected by Thursday evening. Janardhan Reddy had sent his resignation from the party's primary membership to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, on Thursday morning.
According to sources, the TRS is likely to groom Marri against Nagam, who has decided to join the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Marri's exit from the TDP is all set to change the political scenario in Mahboobnagar district. While Nagarkurnool MP Manda Jagannatham is all set to join the TRS, Nagam is joining the BJP.
Now Marri's exit will minimise the presence of both Congress and TDP in the district, while empowering the TRS and the BJP. (INN)
