Revolutionary writer Varavara Rao on Sunday demanded that the Jharkhand police produce a top Maoist leader who was arrested by them, before a court immediately.
Talking to media persons, the writer said that the Jharkhand police had taken one Narasimha Reddy alias Jampanna into its custody at Bokaro early on Sunday. Narasimha Reddy hails from Andhra Pradesh. He said that the arrested Naxal be produced before a court in order to avoid a fake encounter.
Bokaro district Superintendent of Police Saket Kumar Singh said that Narasimha Reddy was arrested at Upper Ghat under Gomia police station limits in Jharkhand, and that a laptop and some incriminating documents were seized from him.
