Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) founder Manda Krishna Madiga, on Tuesday, announced that he would launch a political party for the welfare of Backward Classes communities on 5 June.
Addressing a gathering during a Rath Yatra to press for the categorisation of Scheduled Castes, Krishna Madiga claimed that injustice has been meted out to BC communities, in all areas, due to the lack of proper representation in political parties.
The Rath Yatra entered Kaghaznagar in Adilabad district, on Tuesday.
Krishna Madiga said he would launch a political party to prevent the political discrimination of BCs.
The MRPS founder said that the agenda and policy of the proposed party would be finalised after leaders from the community are consulted.
Responding to a question on by-elections in the Parkal Assembly constituency, the MRPS leader said that he would extend his full support to the candidate of the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee in the elections. He also accused the Telangana Rashtra Samithi of misusing the Telangana statehood agitation for selfish gains. (INN)
