Man Killed by RTC Bus In Kukatpally, Arson Follows

A 37-year-old person died after a speeding TSRTC bus hit his motorbike when he was attempting to take a U-turn near the KPHB bus stop on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Shankar Nath.

According to the police, Nath was trying to take a U-turn when the bus hit his bike and left him with fatal injuries.

The police took the bus driver into custody and are examining CCTV footage from the area to know what exactly happened.

People in the locality, however, alleged that Nath was driving in an inebriated condition after having consumed toddy at an illegal toddy shop operating in the area.

Angry people including the relatives of the deceased set fire to the hut. However, the police said that they were yet to ascertain that the accident and the hut set on fire were connected.

The police also said that they had arrested two persons who were allegedly selling toddy illegally from the hut.

The body of Nath was shifted to a hospital for an autopsy. Cases have been registered in connection with both incidents, and investigation is on.
