Telangana Christian Council (TCC) leaders urged Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to implement free education for the upliftment of the poorer students of the Christian community studying in Christian minority institutions across the State as part of minority welfare.
They also demanded that the Telangana government scrap minority privileges to all Christian institutions that work for profit.
TCC also said that the government should discourage the Roman Catholic churches in the State from practising casteism, and urged the churches to promote and practice a "caste-free church" as more than 80% of the Catholics in the State were dalit Christians.
