A major fire broke out around 10 am at the Forensic Science Laboratory located in the Red Hills area of Hyderabad today.
The fire reportedly originated on the first floor of the laboratory building, and led to the rapid spread of dense smoke that engulfed the surrounding area, posing serious challenges to both rescue and firefighting operations.
Upon receiving an emergency call, fire department personnel rushed to the spot with two fire engines and began efforts to douse the flames.
The thick smoke had been severely hampering rescue operations, the officials said.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and full details will be released after the completion of the investigation.
