Keeping his promise, reigning Tollywood star Mahesh Babu today announced that he would adopt the Siddapuram village under the Kothur mandal of the Mahabubnagar district.
Through his Twitter account, the actor said that upon the advice of Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao, he had decided to adopt this village after much thought.
The village would soon get a face-lift with basic facilities and infrastructure, he committed.
The Kothur mandal is close to the Shamshabad international airport.
According to sources, Mahesh Babu is also planning to adopt Burripalem in the Guntur district, the native place of his father, yesteryear superstar Ghattamaneni Krishna.

Srimanthudu, a blockbuster, is all about adopting a village to develop it, and has prompted many noted personalities to adopt backward villages. Recently, actor Prakash Raj also came forward to adopt Kondareddypally in the Mahabubnagar district. Prakash Raj met K T Rama Rao a few weeks ago and informed him that he would adopt that village.
