The Mahavir Hospital and Research Centre (MHRC), which has been operating its services from three and a half acres of land taken on lease from the government near the Masab Tank flyover in the city, has become a permanent holder of the land.
On behalf of the State government, Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Home Minister Mahmood Ali on Sunday handed over the documents affirming the same to the hospital chairman Mahender Rakaji and one of its doctors Sunil Kapadia.
Speaking on the occasion, Yadav said that since the MHRC had been rendering its services to the poor for decades, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had decided to hand over permanent rights to the hospital over the land.
He said that the hospital had 62 dialysis machines, and had been offering medical services to the poor at nominal prices.
He hailed the philonthropic services of the Jain community in general in Telangana, and pointed out that the State government had allocated two acres of land at Uppal Bhagayath for the construction of a self-respect building for the community.
