Looters Trying To Disrupt Caste Census: Congress

Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka said that 'looters' with ulterior motives were indulging in false propaganda against the ongoing caste survey in the State.
Hyderabad | 21st November 2024
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka today said that the ongoing caste census in the State was a historic move, and alleged that "looters" who would lose if marginalised sections were uplifted were indulging in false propaganda against the survey.

Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan, Vikramarka said, "Once the survey is completed, it will put an end to the exploitation by those who have looted the people until now. Our people's government will have laid the foundation to move society out of a feudal setup and towards equality."

He said that other ministers and he were participating in a face-to-face program to understand the thoughts and opinions of the people, and to address their issues.

"While the previous government ruled from their palatial houses, far removed from the people, this government - including the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and the entire Cabinet - is governing from amidst the people. Ours is a people's government that interacts with and works alongside the public to solve their problems. That is why this government is organizing the face-to-face program," Vikramarka said.

The Deputy CM also talked about the government's focus on education and health in the State, highlighting the establishment of the Young India Integrated Residential Schools to provide world-class education to underprivileged students. "The Cabinet resolved that today's children are tomorrow's future, and increased the payments for students' hostel charges by 40%, an issue the previous BRS government ignored for 10 years," he said.

"The free supply of power up to 200 units, free RTC bus travel for women, subsidized gas cylinders at Rs 500 each, and the construction of Indiramma houses at Rs 5 lakh each are some of the other achievements of this people's government," the Deputy CM added.

Bhatti further noted that the Congress government, as promised, issued notifications for recruitment upon coming to power, and had filled 50,000 vacancies within one year. "The previous government failed to conduct the Group 1 examinations for 10 long years. This government conducted the exams without delay upon coming to power, and successfully without any paper leaks," he claimed.

Vikramarka also said that the government was striving to extend Rs 20,000 crore to Rs 25,000 crore in interest-free loans per year to women, aiming to provide Rs 1 lakh crore in such loans over five years, to empower them as entrepreneurs.

"In the past, when one thought of industries and production, names like Adani and Ambani came to mind. But we have prioritized members of the Self-Help Groups. The government has signed agreements with these groups for the generation of 1,000 MW of solar power. It also plans to purchase RTC buses and lease them to women groups so they can sublet them to the TSRTC," the minister said.
