In protest against the imposition of the Fuel Surcharge Adjustment (FSA) on consumers of power, the Lok Satta Party, on Wednesday, staged a dharna at Vidyut Soudha in Somajiguda.
Raising slogans against the state government's decision, the Lok Satta's activists said that the government's move would burden the common people, and that their lives would become miserable.
Terming the government's decision as "unjust" and "unscientific", the activists demanded that the government immediately revoke its orders.
The Lok Satta leaders alleged that the government had imposed the FSA to cover up its inefficiency, and its irrational and corrupt policies in the generation, transmission and distribution of power.
The traffic at Khairatabad came to a standstill due to the dharna, and normalcy was restored only after police arrested the activists and shifted them to a nearby police station. (INN)
