Lingayats Laud KCR, To Hold Public Meeting In City
A public meeting with 5 lakh Lingayats will be organized in Hyderabad soon in support of the community's demand for being accorded minority religion status.
Telangana Lingayat Samithi president Ashok Mustapure said that a public meeting with five lakh Lingayats would be organized in Hyderabad very soon in support of the community's demand for being accorded minority religion status.
Addressing a meeting of the Telangana Lingayats Coordination Samithi held at Gayatri Gardens in Bowenpally today, Mustapure thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for allocating land and Rs. 5 crores for the construction of a Basaveshwara Bhavan in the state capital. He also appealed to the state government to support the cause of the Lingayats by giving autonomous status to the Lingayat dharma.
Karnataka minister M B Patil and several other prominent Lingayat leaders, too, attended the meeting.
