The members of Telangana Lecturers Forum on Thursday demanded that the government lift police cases unconditionally against all students who participated in the separate statehood agitation.
Talking to media persons after paying rich tributes to Telangana martyrs by lighting candles at Martyrs Memorial Statue at Gun Park, Greater Hyderabad Telangana Vice-President K Bhaskar Reddy alleged that the government was showing bias in lifting police cases filed against students from Telangana region.
"If the government has any commitment towards Telangana, it should lift all police cases against students immediately," he stated.
Bhaskar Rao pledged that the forum would continue to extend full cooperation and support to Telangana agitation after the submission of Justice B N Srikrishna Commission report.
He said that the lecturers would participate in rallies, dharnas and hunger strikes to achieve the dream of a separate Telangana state.
If Justice B N Srikrishna Commission's report is adverse to the aspirations of the Telangana people, the lecturers would launch non-cooperative movement immediately, Bhaskar Rao stated.
The lecturers raised 'Aware Kakka, Telangana Pakka' slogans before the Martyrs Memorial statue, and proceeded to Maha Garjana held at Warangal.
