The joint efforts by the forest wing of the TTD and the Andhra Pradesh forest department resulted in the trapping in the Seshachala woods during the wee hours on Monday of the leopard that is expected to have been the one that attacked and killed a 6-year-old girl last week.
According to TTD forest officials, the trapped leopard was a full-grown adult aged over five years.
Three cages were set up to trap it, and the wild beast was trapped in one of them, placed in between the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple and the Ghanta Mandapam area.
The wild cat was sent to the S V Zoo Park.
TTD EO A V Dharma Reddy also visited the spot where the leopard was caught.
