Hyderabad police commissioner Anurag Sharma has claimed that it was left-wing extremists (LWE) who had created all the
violence at the Telangana march on Necklace road on September 30.
"We have inputs to this effect. We are yet to identify them," said Sharma.
The violence included stone-pelting, which injured around 25 policemen, including an IPS officer Rajasekhar and an inspector Gopal Rao. Around 20 police vehicles were either damaged or burnt. 2 media vehicles were also damaged.
Anurag Sharma said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be set up to investigate all the violent incidents, and that cases will be filed against those protesters who have taken the law into their hands.
The commissioner blamed the TJAC for violating their agreement and not marching the "peaceful" way.
"Despite our best efforts, protesters targeted Ohri's Restaurant, Eat Street and Jalvihar," Sharma said.
Anurag Sharma also assured that heavy security will be provided to the CoP-11 delegates as the global meet starts today.
