Law Has Done Its Duty: Police On Disha Accused's Encounter
Explaining the circumstances that led to the encounter of the gang-rapists of Disha, Cyberabad Commissioner Sajjanar said that the law had done its duty.

Explaining the circumstances that led to the encounter of the gang-rapists of veterinary doctor "Disha" in the early hours, Cyberabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar said, "The law has done its duty."
Speaking to the media at the encounter spot near Chatanpally in Shamshabad after the panchanama and other judicial formalities were completed, Sajjanar said that after getting custody of the accused - Mohd Arif, Chennakesavulu, Jollu Naveen and Jollu Siva, of Makthal mandal in Narayanpet district - on December 2, the police had taken up investigation and questioned them about the victim's mobile phone and other items which were missing, among other things.
The accused revealed their location, and as part of offence scene reconstruction, were brought to Chatanpally by 10 policemen early this morning.
The CP said that when the policemen were near the location, the main accused Mohd Arif and Chennakesavulu snatched the policemen's weapons and opened fire at them, and the other two Jollu Siva and Jollu Naveen started pelting stones at the policemen and attacked them with sticks.
The police then opened fire in self-defence at the fleeing accused, killing them on the spot, Sajjanar claimed.
The incident was over in just five to 10 minutes, at about 5:30 am, he said.
The CP said that two policemen, including a sub-inspector Venkateswarlu from Makthal and a police constable, were grievously injured in the attack by the accused, and had been sent to a hospital.
The victim's cellphone, watch and other articles were recovered from the spot, he said.
The bodies of the accused were shifted to the Mahabubnagar Government Hospital for post mortems, he added.
