The Chikkadpally police, on Sunday, arrested a labourer on charges of murdering his friend due to enmity.
According to the police, a man's body was lying in a pool of blood near Achaiah Nagar of Chikkadpally on Friday night. On a tip-off, police reached the spot and found that his throat had been slit with a sharp weapon.
The deceased was later identified as N Gangadhar, a labourer and native of Rayalaseema. He had migrated to Hyderabad about four years ago, in search of a livelihood.
Further investigations revealed that on April 19, Gangadhar had met another labourer Nagaraju, who hail from Kallur village of Kurnool.
They consumed liquor near the Nala at Fever Hospital, and after Gangadhar became semi-conscious, Nagaraju took him to a pavement of the road near Padma Colony, Achaiah Nagar, and cut his throat with a shaving razor at about 8:30pm. He then fled from the scene of offence.
On a tip-off, the Chikkadpally police arrested Nagaraju, and during the interrogation, police claimed, he confessed to committing the murder due to some previous enmity with Gangadhar. (INN)
