Telangana TDP president L Ramana today responded to the many speculations regarding his probable exit from the party.
He revealed that the leaders of the TRS and the BJP had indeed approached him and made offers to him to join their respective parties. However, he said that he had never spoken about leaving the TDP at any point.
"My political journey will proceed on the basis of policy issues, not party identities. I must remind all that I joined the TDP soon after founder N T Rama Rao started the party as I was convinced by the ideals on which it was founded," he added.
The leader explained that he had worked hard for the development of the TDP, and that both NTR and current party supremo Chandrababu Naidu had always encouraged him to grow and supported him as a leader from a weaker social group. He hastened to clarify, however, that the political situation had completely changed today.
Ramana said that the time had come for him to plot his political career in accordance with the aspirations and the needs of the people of Telangana.
He revealed that he had held a meeting with his followers and supporters in this regard
