Even as the
clamour within the TRS for the appointment of IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao as the next Chief Minister grows, Congress leader and MP A Revanth Reddy today said that incumbent Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would never make his son his successor.
Speaking to the media, Reddy also lashed out at KTR, and alleged that the latter was unsuitable for the post as he indulged only in telling lies to retain power.
"KTR has become a habitual liar. In fact, he has even made false claims about developing the Kodangal Assembly constituency which was actually developed under my leadership," he said.
(Reddy had served as the MLA of Kodangal for two terms, in 2009 and 2014, while he was still associated with the TDP.)
"It is reprehensible that KTR is now taking credit for the developmental works undertaken by me during my term as Kodangal MLA. This is especially so when he has not even sanctioned a single developmental project in the region," the MP added.
The Congress has often, in the past, assailed the TRS government for taking "false credit" for the works undertaken by the preceding Congress government. Earlier this month, TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy had
condemned the government's attempts to take credit for the irrigation works initiated by the Congress.
