KTR Slams Proposal To Build High Court In Agricultural University

BRS working president K T Rama Rao today said that his party welcomed the decision of the Congress government to construct a modern High Court building for the State.

He however requested the State government to take it somewhere other than the lands of the Agricultural University in Rajendra Nagar.

Legislative Affairs Minister D Sridhar Babu introduced the Civil Courts Amendment Bill in the Assembly. Speaking on the occasion, KTR said that the students of the Prof Jayashankar Agriculture University had been agitating for a month against constructing the High Court on the university land.

"Field experiment research needs to be carried out in agricultural schools. New varieties need to be grown that it will be useful to the farmers of the State. Land is required for those investigations. Therefore I request you not to take away the land of the university where agricultural research is to be carried out. The idea of acquiring 100 acres of land belonging to the agricultural university should be stopped. Professors and students are agitating there. I request the State government to set up the High Court in another area," he said.
