KTR Slams Government For "Neglecting" Bathukamma Festival

The BRS working president came down heavily against the State government alleging that it was showing negligence towards the Bathukamma festival.
Hyderabad | 5th October 2024
BRS working president K T Rama Rao today came down heavily against the State government alleging that it was showing negligence towards the Bathukamma festival.

Taking to his Twitter handle, he expressed his displeasure over the "neglect" of the festival, a symbol of Telangana's self-respect, by the Congress government.

"Doesn't it matter to this Chief Minister? Why does he not make arrangements for the celebration of the festival of the women? Can't you keep the villages clean even during the festival? Should our sisters play Bathukamma in a dirty place amidst the garbage?" he asked.

He alleged that there was no pressure from the State government on the grassroot officials to make arrangements for the festival. "Why is there so much negligence where one of Telangana's grandest festivals is concerned? It is a special festival of worshipping nature, but the women of the State do not have clean surroundings for even that," he said.
