BRS working president K T Rama Rao today lashed out at the BJP and Congress governments at the Centre and in the State respectively, alleging that the two parties were wrestling in Delhi and colluding in the State.
Speaking to mediapersons, he also said that the Congress government was negating all the good work done by the previous BRS government in the State, including trying to abolish the new districts created, as part of its attempts to remove all traces of BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao in the State.
He also said that the "six guarantees" of the Congress were relegated to the dustbin. He said that the State government had cheated the farmers by reneging on its Rythu Bharosa scheme, and by continuously changing the dates for the loan waivers. He also said that the farmers were now telling him that the agriculture sector was much better during the rule of KCR, and . that the farmers had taught a lesson to the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections, and that the opposition to the Congress would be visible very soon when the results were declared.
Even among the girl children and their parents there was a strong opposition to the Congress as it had failed to implement its promise of paying Rs 2,500 per month to 1.67 crore girls within 100 days of coming into power, KTR claimed. Girls were also angry with the Congress for reneging on its promise of one tola gold and Scootys to them, he said.
He added that women today needed to walk on the roads for drinking water, and that they were irate with this government for that too. He said that there was nothing that the Congress did to help the people in the past five months.
KTR said that the people of Telangana were not in favour of the BJP either. "Even though there are four MPs from the BJP in Telangana, there has been no development. Once the prices of petrol, diesel and essential commodities go up, there will be even more opposition to Modi," he said.
"Understanding the failures of the Congress and the BJP, we have fielded strong candidates in 17 constituencies. And we have done justice to the weaker sections by allocating 50% of the seats to the BCs. There was a positive wave among the people towards our candidates," he said.
