IT Minister K T Rama Rao today said that the crime rate had come down drastically since the formation of Telangana.
Launching the Crime and Criminal Tracking Networking System project at the DGP's office along with Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and DGP Anurag Sharma on Tuesday, Rao said that there had been a misinformation campaign during the statehood struggle that statehood would lead to law and problems. However, the TRS government had taken every possible step to ensure that that did not happen, he claimed.
"Any state will get investments in a big way only when law and order is under control," he said.
Rao added that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was giving top priority for the same, and appreciated the efforts of the Telangana police towards creating confidence among the people and working as per the CM's expectations to maintain law and order. He also appreciated the She Teams for bringing laurels to the state government with their hard work.
KTR also said that technology was helping expedite the works in various departments, and that 12 lakh people had downloaded the RTA's M-Valet application.
